Experience. Dedication. Commitment.

In 1985, Bob Sugarman and Howard Susskind established the law firm of Sugarman Susskind Braswell & Herrera in order to provide quality legal services for the benefit of working people and their pension and health insurance funds. There are now eight attorneys at Sugarman Susskind Braswell & Herrera, all of whom share a commitment to protecting workers’ rights, wages, pensions, benefits, and working conditions by helping to create environments in which promises made to workers are kept.

Experienced Representation in Florida for Pensions and Employee Benefit Plans, Individual Employees, and Labor Unions.

Our founding partners, Bob Sugarman and Howard Susskind, have been working together for more than 40 years practicing labor, employment, pension, and employee benefits law. Together they have developed expertise in all aspects of labor law and wage and hour law, including representing workers in employment litigation. They have been practicing pension and employee benefits law for as long as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) has been in existence. Our firm now includes eight attorneys who bring to the firm valuable experience gained at the U.S. Department of Labor, the City of Miami Police Department, the Coast Guard, and in private practice. Each of our attorneys has extensive experience in labor, employment, and employee benefits law, such as the fiduciary obligations under ERISA and the Florida Protection of Public Employee Retirement Benefits Act, employee rights, Florida public pension plan governance requirements, worker classification under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), employment litigation, and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and the Florida Public Employee Relations Act.
